It's the Cross!
Saint Jean-Gabriel lived a short but extremely fruitful life as a Vincentian missionary in China, and was very strong in both spiritual and relational qualities. His love for the Cross (depicted in the picture above) followed him all the way to his death on a cross in China, during a time of Christian persecution (in 1840). He was canonized in 1996 by Pope John Paul II.
