According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, 336, "From its beginning until death, human life is surrounded by their watchful care and intercession. "Beside each believer stands an angel as protector and shepherd leading him to life." Already here on earth the Christian life shares by faith in the blessed company of angels and men united in God."

How to live the life of each person decides for himself! Fate can change!
I always felt sorry for guardian angels of those who end up in hell, but I guess they still rejoice at God's love that allows us to reject Him.
When we were kids one of our morning prayers was:
Angel of God, my guardian dear,
To whom God's love commits me here,
Ever this day be at my side,
To light and guard, to rule and guide.
AMEN.
It might not be a bad idea to start saying it again -- I'm certainly more in need of guidance than I was 40+ yrs ago.
