Known as Basil the Great, or Basil of Caesarea (where he was made bishop), this saint is the patron of hospital administration... and crosswords! He was instrumental in the victory of true Catholic teaching on the issue of whether Jesus was equally God as the Father—whether he shared the same essence, as it were, of being God, as the Father did.
His writings and position as a powerhouse in the early Church allowed him to stamp out Arianism, and also to teach the truth, be a man of charity, and help the early Christians to have stronger faith. Read more about this truly "Great" saint at Catholic.org.
